There Doesn’t Seem to Be Any Track…

First thing’s first...lunch at the Yak & Yeti Counter Service.  Good, cheap, Chinese food to fill you up.  A family of ducks wandered our way as we were getting done eating.

Beautiful view from Asia looking back towards the Tree of Life.  (notice the storm clouds building)

We grabbed some FPs for Everest and headed over to see It’s Tough to Be a Bug.  I love all of the detail in the Tree of Life!

And a picture of us, honorary bugs.

After that we headed back to Everest…and I noticed a storm was quickly approaching.  Thank goodness we had FP.  Right when we got inside it started to rain…and rain…and rain…the deluge.  No problems though…and we make our way almost to the front of the line…

Then we hear thunder…which means lightning…which means all outdoor rides are shut down…for at least 20-30 minutes.

So we wait…and wait…and wait…thank God for the fans to keep the air blowing!

At this point we have two options…get out of line and get soaked…or stay in line and stay dry.  We did the latter…and because other folks in front of us left…we moved closer to the front of the line.

Then…after about 45 minutes of waiting…the trains start moving again…and the group in front of us boards!

We are next to board!!!

Wait…what’s that?  Oh…more lightning?  Looks like we will be waiting again…staring at the train right in front of us.

“B.S. indeed!”

YAY!  The ride opens back up and we are about to board!  Luckily this train is bone dry due to sitting under the overhang for an hour and a half!

What is the only thing scarier than the giant Yeti at the end of the ride?  It’s being the first train back out on the track after 90 minutes of rain and lightning.  I have video of this…

We had some extra Everest FPs that a gracious guest had given to us earlier in the day because his family wasn’t going to use them…and we didn’t want to risk another fiasco due to weather…so we decided to pay it forward and give them to another pair of lucky guests.  Good deed for the day, done.

We may have ridden Dinosaur after this…but I can’t remember right now.  Anyhow…we headed back to the buses where we proceeded to wait forever again on a bus to take us back to our resort.  For some reason I was not very happy…probably because of the awful weather.

Back to our resort, Old Key West, to pack up and check out to head to our next resort…
