The Great Pumpkin Patch

We decided to start a fall family tradition this past October. We love doing things as a family so we look forward to opportunities to do just that. We headed to "The Great Pumpkin Patch" in Hayden, Alabama. I was excited about this trip for numerous reasons, one of them being Emerson had an adorable smocked pumpkin shirt that I would not wait to capture in pictures. It was so hot that day. Like 85 degrees in the middle of October, hot! So we had wardrobe changes right there on a picnic table. Just so I could capture these precious pictures. I know this will not happen we when (God Willing) have multiple children - so I am taking advantage of the opportunity while it exists.

Emerson loved the taste of hay.

We also took a hay ride out to the pumpkin patch to pick out two pumpkins. We had a blast. Emerson seemed to really like the hay ride and we found two pumpkins perfect for us to carve and display on our front porch.

Just before we left we stopped by the little pie shop and bought a homemade fried apple pie! It was amazing. Emerson even got in on the action and ate every bite we would give him. Needless to say, that apple did not fall far from the tree. As if there were ever any doubt, he is certainly part of this family!

Here are our pumpkins after being carved up into jack-o-lanterns!

We look forward to visiting "The Great Pumpkin Patch" again in 2013!
